Located in Rock Rapids, Iowa since 1976
Maintainer Custom Bodies, Inc. (MCB) started out and continues to be located in Lyon County, Iowa, situated in the Northwest corner of Iowa, near the Minnesota and South Dakota borders.
MCB has been in continuous operation since 1976, with origins as Cayel Craft Ambulances which, for over a decade, manufactured industry leading Ambulances to the EMS marketplace.
Years later, with a change in ownership, Cayel Craft became Amtech Emergency Products which continued manufacturing "top of the line" Ambulances but also added custom manufactured Rescue and Specialty vehicles to its product line-up.
With hundreds of Rescue Vehicles sold and delivered under the RVI badge, the owners sought retirement and sold the company thus becoming Maintainer Custom Bodies, Inc.
2015: Maintainer Corporation Announces Merger with Maintainer Custom Bodies
On October 1, 2015, Maintainer Custom Bodies (MCB), merged with Maintainer Corporation in Sheldon, Iowa. This merger of Companies will allow Maintainer Corp. to increase its capacity for output by allowing service trucks to be manufactured in the Rock Rapids plant as well as in the Sheldon plant.
MCB in Rock Rapids will continue to produce emergency vehicles and DuaLock™ Drawer systems, but with recent upgrades and additions to their plant, they will also be able to assist Maintainer in manufacturing the overflow from Sheldon.
This is a productive and exciting move for both companies and will allow both to pursue more business in each industry.
